Bangladesh Cricket Board president Nazmul Hasan ruled off the chance of a delayed start to the seventh edition of the Bangladesh Premier League T20.
The BPL governing council’s decision to stage the tournament this year from the first week of December was in jeopardy following differences between the BPL GC and the franchises.
With no visible development of the issues following a series of meetings between the BPL GC and the franchises, speculation was rife that the tournament would not take place at all this year.
“There is no scope of changing the date for BPL this year,” said BCB boss Nazmul to the media in Dhaka Sunday.
BCB chief Nazmul informed that the expired contracts between the BCB and the existing franchises of the tournament will be completed soon.
Decisions on tournament by-laws and franchise regulations will also be declared in a couple of days.
