The ruling Awami League has finalized the dates for the council of two of its affiliated organizations, Jubo League and Swechasebak League.
The decision came from a meeting of top leaders from the party and the affiliated organizations at Ganabhaban in Dhaka on Wednesday.
Awami League Joint General Secretary Abdur Rahman told the Dhaka Tribune that the party has finalized Bangladesh Awami Swechasebak League’s council on November 16, while Bangladesh Awami Jubo League’s council will be held on November 23.
Awami Jubo League Deputy Publication Secretary Iqbal Mahamood Bablu confirmed the council date, saying the council of Jubo League will be held at Bangabandhu International Conference Center this year.
When contacted, Swechasebak League’s Organizational Secretary Khairul Hasan Jewel confirmed about Swechasebak League’s council date, and added Awami League president and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina fixed November 16 for their council.
Meanwhile, council dates for Bangladesh Krishak League and Bangladesh Jatiya Sramik League have also been fixed on November 2 and November 9 respectively, according to sources.
According to sources, the last council of Krishak League, Swechasebak League, Sramik League and Jubo League were held 2012.
Earlier on September 14, Awami League senior brasses took decision from a meeting that councils of its all associated and affiliated organizations will be held before Awami League’s national council, scheduled to be held on December 20-21.
Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader sent a letter to these four organizations to hold their councils before December 10.
